If I upgrade my host from Debian Etch to Debian Lenny, should I expect the newer vserver version in Lenny to sort this out for me, or is there something else I should do to fix it? 1250201042 M * Bertl what do you need/want binfmt_misc for in a guest? 1250201169 M * mstrobert Bertl, I'm setting up a continuous integration server that will build and test our C# code using mono. When I compile mono, it gets confused when .NET executables can't be run. I'm not sure how our own build process would handle the situation. 1250201215 M * Bertl did you configure the proper binfmt on the host? 1250201358 M * mstrobert Bertl, I didn't yet install binfmt handling of .NET executables on the host, but I did install binfmt itself, which puts a small number of files into proc by mounting binfmt_misc into /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc . Since I don't see those files in my guest, I assume that I also wouldn't see the mono-handling binfmt file if I were to install it. Maybe I would? 1250201421 M * Bertl yep, the binfmt stuff is basically a kernel configuration, so you usually want to keep that tho the host system (although that might be different in a sole test setup) 1250201480 M * mstrobert Bertl, hm, okay. So maybe binfmt for mono will Just Work even though the files don't show up in /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc in a guest? 1250201504 M * Bertl they shoul 1250201509 M * Bertl *should 1250201530 M * mstrobert Bertl, Okay, thanks. And when trying to run a mono .exe program in the guest, it says "run-detectors: unable to find an interpreter for ./foo.exe". Should it be behaving differently than that, 1250207990 M * mstrobert or maybe I need to tell it to do something else?
