I'm confident that it shouldn't be the cause of the problem, grsec tends to log nearly everything so you can see what it's actually doing. I'll neverthless build a 2.6.22.19-vs2.2.0.7 kernel (without grsec) and reboot as soon as I get physically near the system (tomorrow afternoon I think :)
